The Search for Peace

Let Us Be Grateful

“As the wind moves the circles within circles of the mobile in search of balance, the interplay of the wheels symbolizes our hope for peace in our hearts, peace in our homes, peace in our community, and peace throughout the world.

Our world is the product of 13 billion years of evolution. Nature and humans are the product of a rare Goldilocks moment in the universe. Let us celebrate and be grateful for our brief lives to savor our beautiful planet and sustain it for future generations.”

- Gordon Gamm J.D.

The kinetic sculpture, "The Search for Peacer" by the Colorado artist Charles Sturrock, was kindly gifted by Rotarian Gordon Gamm.

Art as a Symbol of Peace
By Gordon Gamm, J.D.

When we contemplate a work of art, we empathize with the artist in its making. With our appreciation, we make it part of ourselves.  Through wonder and awe, we resonate to beauty.  This dynamic mobile sculpture thus becomes our inspiration to make peace more possible.
Our universe is no fixed creation. It is a challenge that invites us to create a better world. The search for peace is an evolving self-realization, a dream of a betterworld made by refining ourselves to become more loving.
