What is Peace?

What is this Peace that we want to prevail on Earth?  The peace we seek is not the naïve and complacent negative peace of absence of conflict or tension.[1]  We seek to build a culture of positive sustainable peace in which a critical mass of people envision and work together to build an inclusive and united multi-ethnic society that is more just, less violent, and more participatory – a society in which every person has the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from the common good.  

 

Who will build sustainable peace?  You will - as you become the change that you seek in the world and equip yourself with principles and practices that enable the never-ending work of peace building.
